The Saudi society has evolved over the years, their values and traditions from customs, hospitality to their style of dressing, are adapting with modernization.

Foods of Arabia

Due to the desert-like climate, Saudi Arabia has a distinct and flavorful cuisine. The Saudi Arabia food culture inculcates the essence of the past nomadic and tribal lifestyle of people in the kingdom. Therefore, traditional food in Saudi Arabia includes basic ingredients such as meat, milk, spices, rice, dates, and fruits. With evolving times the Saudi Arabian cuisine has found a modern twist, but its authenticity is still preserved by the locals. Further, food in Saudi Arabia is a sign of hospitality; hence, tourists visiting Saudi Arabia can find an array of flavorful dishes served with love and respect.

Seasons and Climate

About Saudia Arabia's Weather

As most of Saudi Arabia is a desert-like plateau, the weather usually remain stable throughout the Kingdom. Climatic differences can only be felt between coastal and inland areas. There are four major seasons in Saudi Arabia: Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring. The summer in the country is hot and dry, with very little to no rainfall. On the other hand, winters are mild with the expectations of rain and snowfall in some regions. Mountains in the north can experience moderate snowfall during winters.

From mid-December to mid-March, Saudi Arabia offers a beautiful winter season, perfect for exploring the diverse landscapes of the kingdom. The weather during this time is characterized by balmy days and cool nights, providing an excellent opportunity for various outdoor activities. Whether you’re interested in camping, rock climbing, or exploring the verdant highlands and vibrant cities like Riyadh and Jeddah, the winter months are ideal.

Autumn

During the period from mid-March to mid-June, Saudi Arabia experiences brisk spring weather, especially in the northern region, with nighttime temperatures sometimes dropping below 15 degrees Celsius. The central and southern parts of the country are relatively warmer, with average temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius after nightfall. Spring brings higher rainfall, particularly in the central region and southwest areas, notably over the Aseer Mountains.

Spring

When preparing for your trip, remember to pack appropriately by including layers such as light sweaters, scarves, or pashminas. Additionally, don’t forget to bring a rain jacket and sunglasses to be prepared for varying weather conditions.

Winter

From mid-June to mid-September, summer sets in with soaring temperatures across most of Saudi Arabia, except for the relatively mild highlands in the southwest. The average temperature hovers around 45 degrees Celsius during this season. While the early mornings and evenings offer more moderate temperatures, it’s an ideal time to make the most of the warm seas by exploring Saudi Arabia’s excellent scuba diving spots or engaging in sailing and snorkeling activities.
